What is the "MAGD" after
Dr. Grossman's name?!

Most dentists have a DDS after their name (Doctor of Dental Surgery), or a DMD (Doctor of Medical Dentistry). Why does Dr. Grossman have an MAGD after his DDS?

MAGD stands for: Master of the Academy of General Dentistry.  We're excited to say that it's a recognition he has earned!  Read more below.

Michael A. Grossman, DDS, MAGD
Master of the Academy of General Dentistry

Dr. Grossman received the prestigious Mastership Award during the Academy of General Dentistry’s Convocation ceremony, which recognizes AGD member's commitment to excellence in dental education, at the AGD's Annual Meeting on July 19, 2008.
The Mastership Award is the highest honor available in the AGD and one of the most respected designations in the profession. This accomplishment meets the highest criteria for professional excellence. To accomplish this, Dr. Grossman completed 1,100 hours of continuing dental education in the 16 disciplines of dentistry, including 400 hours dedicated to hands-on skills and techniques. As a recipient of this award, Dr. Grossman has joined over 2,200 members in the USA and Canada who understand that great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements.
"Dr. Grossman’s accomplishment shows his allegiance to the profession and commitment to ensuring his patients receive excellent oral health care. The challenging process of becoming a Master exemplifies Dr. Grossman dedication to continuing education and distinguishes him professionally in the dental community." - AGD President, Paula Jones, DDS, FAGD.
Dr. Grossman graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1983. In addition to the AGD, Dr. Grossman is a member of the Southern Arizona Dental Society, Arizona Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.  His areas of focus are in General Dentistry, Cosmetic/Esthetic Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry, and Special Needs Dentistry.

Dr. Carlos Benavides
Dr. Benavides is from Douglas, AZ/Agua Prieta, Sonora border. After graduating from Douglas High School, he attended the University of Arizona and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, and focused on Anatomy and Physiology.
He then moved to Washington, DC and attended Howard University College of Dentistry.
But, his heart always stayed in Tucson, so he returned when the right opportunity presented itself.
